This weekend marks the beginning of the International Festival of People’s Rights and Struggles, or IFPRS. It is a series of activities organized by various anti-imperialist and people’s organizations and formations under the International League of People’s Struggles (ILPS) to celebrate the various advocacies of the peoples of the world.
ILPS Commission 13, which focuses on concerns on science, technology and the environment, invites everyone to attend relevant activities organized throughout the festival. Let me take this opportunity to invite everyone to participate in a forum on the current challenges of climate change organized by the Center for Environmental Concerns – Philippines, AGHAM, Kalikasan-People’s Network for the Environment, ILPS Commission 13, the People’s Actions on Climate Change and envi-education initiative Climate-AP. This will be held at the Aldaba Recital Hall in UP Diliman on July 5, Tuesday from 1PM-6PM.
The programme will be divided in 3 parts, in order: (1) Climate Change 101 – science and politics, (2) Sharing of different participating countries on climate change experiences and struggles, and (3) a book launching of CEC’s publication on envi and climate change education. Everyone can just attend one block session, but are highly encouraged to attend the whole event.
